The Philippines is known for many things, jeepneys, lumpia, the infamous barrel man, entertainment singers, and Manny Pacquiao. Well I always wondered why we never had any notable hit man. This post seeks to find the reason behind this fact. Below is a typical Pilipino hit man.

HERE ARE SOME FACTS THAT ARE BASED ON DOCUMENTED RECORDS

1) Weaponry--Pilipino hit men are usually armed to the teeth; a lot of 80's Rambo movies and all of the missing in action films has glorified the M60, which has become a favorite weapon of choice for most. Although very imposing, the draw back is that it makes the hit man easy to spot from afar leading to their untimely demise by security and police forces.

2) Flip-flops--Unfortunately theses make a lot of noise so stealth missions are out of the picture.

3) Cigarette smoking--Although he does a very good Chow Yun Fat, the cigarette is a dead give away to his position especially if he's trying to stay hidden in the shadows.

4) Bright red shirt supporting Manny--Again not at all very inconspicuous especially because red is one of those colors that catches the eye; the cover of darkness would not help at all.

These are some of the facts I have collected and I still have to sort through more but I hope these help to shed some light on the subject.
