Tito Batman

When I was a kid I always wondered why there was a lack of Pilipino superheros. Watching my favorite shows after school and waking up at 7am for the Saturday morning cartoons were always the highlights of my week--huddled underneath my blanket while waiting for the new Super Friends to start followed by Mr T. and Shirt Tales--it didn't get any better than that!

Thinking back to those days it would have been cool if I had a relative who was a superhero. I would bring him or her to show & tell day and brag to all my friends. But when I really think about it and factor in how my relatives are...reality smacks me on the face. If I did have an uncle who was a superhero, he would probably be the epitome of a true Pilipino uncle. Below is my interpretation of this realization. If Batman were my uncle, he would probably be something like this:
